I was reading the Bible the other day and I found a spot where it mentioned what love was. One of the things Paul said was that, "love protects."
How does this apply to anything?
As a future missionary, perhaps to a dangerous part of the world where my congregation members are at risk, I want to apply this verse.
That's why I'm thinking about becoming a certified bodyguard AND being a missionary.
What's y'all's opinion on that? I know there are a lot of angles to it.
I think I'm going to change the focus of my blog a bit. I don't have much time to write much, so I thought I'd make it more of the place where I talk about what's on my mind. You can't really do that on Facebook. :) So, you might not be interested in what a future missionary working through college and has a tendency to get into dumb circumstances, but that's what's going to be here.

A bodyguard? Sounds like fun! You'll need a ratty leather jacket, though...
What did God say about it?
Ah..Jamin, bodyguard sounds..actually like a good job for you..you always reminded me of John McClaine from Die Hard..he was cool..
I'm praying, whatever you decide. God knows where you'll wind up.

I've even got the coat!
Yeah, sounds like a blast, but I don't know about some of the implications of the job.
Jesus said to turn the other cheek, but he also said to be as innocent as doves and as shrewd as serpents.
He said to turn the other cheek, but the Bible also says "love protects."
I've already decided I won't carry a weapon. Think about the backlash from a Christian carrying a weapon in an already hostile area of the world.
However, most of a bodyguard's job is seeing danger before it's too late.
Maybe I could go to a camp in Israel where they teach you everything from operating boats to where to stand in a fight.
OK, now I've got to see that movie, Judi :)
Dude, if you're a bodyguard, you have to carry a weapon..we can't have you dying on us..we'd be heart-broken.. :(
Seriously, see Die Hard. It's one of the best movies I've ever seen..One man takes down 12 terrorists on his own.. ah, Bruce Willis...quite a bit of language in there, though..I don't know how you feel about that..

Hey, found you through YCF. It's really cool that you want to be a missionary and and bodyguard! Really like the playlist on your blog. :) Blessings!
YOu could learn martial arts so you wouldn't even need any weapon but your hands ;)
I thought about that.
