Rated R

What's up with R's? I hadn't realized it before, but the fantasy genre is PACKED with them. Just think about all the bad guy names...

SauRon
SaRuman
DiRza
Risto
MoRgan
GalbatoRix
Raj Ahtan
ORcs
URgals

To name a few.

Do we just have to have that "RRRRR" sound to make us thing, "Ooooh. This guy's bad."

Am I just going nuts?

Interesting observation. I'll have to think about that one. Does the bad guy in your book have an "R" in his name?

Yeah, actually he does!

There's a theory that all letters have personalities (or something like that :), so maybe "R" is the evil letter.

Or maybe not...

Paris :)

Hmmmm....and there's an R in Paris. ;)

But what about Mr. Frodo? And Merry? Not to say your theory is totally wrong. I've noticed quite a few 'o's in bad guy names, too.

P.S. 'Kiwifruit' has an R in it, too! Oh my goodness, I know a lot of 'r' named people!

Judi doesn't have an R in it. O:-)
I see your point...I don't read a whole lot of fantasy books, but in the few that I've read, there's been an R in the bad guy's name...

I think that's interesting. In the book I just read the bad guy was Rhita gawR. Two R's. Of course, sone of the good guys were scRee, bRionna, elliyRanna, and Rhia. That's a lot of R's.
