Homicidal Maniac

It started out like a normal run. Texas doesn't have a good track record of being kind to joggers.

As I usually do on Saturdays, I rolled out of bed and went on my run before going to work. I slipped in my headphones and off I went. Nothing eventful.

About ten minutes out I decided it was time to head back. Then I saw it. How many people see a hammer on the side of the road?

I collect things I see on the side of the road (providing it wasn't alive at sometime or it doesn't look contamidated), but I decided to take it to a construction crew I'd passed.

So I ran over to the construction sight. On the way I had to pass an older guy out for a run. Good thing he didn't turn around.

Imagine a breathless, red-faced, teenager running up on you with a hammer. That could've been interesting. Especially since so many Texans pack guns. :O

LOL. I'm making a mental note to never live in Texas. Ever.

Believe me, the only thing that could force down here was the military.

Interesting. I'm asuming the hammer did belong to the construction crew. If someone was running after me with a hammer, I'd start going faster and hope I can outrun him!

If I saw someone coming after me with a hammer, I'd probably pass out right there on the street. There'd be no hope for me.

Yeah, that's what I would do, Judi, when I find out I can't outrun whoever it is!

Aw, come on. Texas isn't that bad. Just certain parts (like the one I live in now....)

It's not that bad???? Need I remind you of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre???
If I was ever in Texas and saw someone coming at me with a hammer, they wouldn't have to kill me, I'd pass out and slam my head so hard on the concrete I would die, even if it was just a teenager returning a hammer.

The terrian is pretty flat, and you can run in the morning or night to avoid the heat, but what I CAN'T get away from is the roadkill!

Wow, thats a pretty interesting story. So did the hammer belong to the construction crew?

Yeah, and it turned out I actually knew someone working there.

LOL. I wonder if had the guy you passed looked up if he would have asked if hammers were the new Mace.
